Clark Hunt received his Masters in Trumpet Performance/Jazz Studies at Georgia State University, where he was the recipient of the Lead Trumpet Graduate Assistantship. Prior to his graduate studies, Hunt received a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Jacksonville State University. Hunt is currently a Doctoral Candidate at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in trumpet performance.  While at Indiana University, he performed with the IU Faculty Brass Quintet, Philharmonic Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, the Singing Hoosiers, played principal in the University Orchestra, and was the lead trumpeter in the Brent Wallarab Jazz Ensemble. Hunt taught at Reinhardt University as the Adjunct Trumpet Instructor from 2015-2017. in 2020-2021, Hunt was the Visiting Assistant Professor of Trumpet and Director of Jazz Studies at The Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam in New York where he taught trumpet lessons, Jazz Ensemble, Frackenpohl Honors Brass Quintet, the Giroux Honors Jazz Combo, and was a member of the Potsdam Brass Quintet. Hunt is currently the Assistant Professor of Trumpet and the Assistant Director of Bands at Campbellsville University in Campbellsville, KY.

 

Hunt was a marching member and soloist for Spirit of Atlanta from 2001 to 2005. In 2006, he was selected as a member of the inaugural cast of INergy in Indianapolis, where he served as a featured trumpet soloist. Hunt was also a soloist for the Atlanta CorpsVets in 2009 and 2010 and was on staff as the Trumpet Instructor from 2011-2014.  In addition to working with Atlanta CorpsVets, Hunt was the High Brass Coordinator at Spirit of Atlanta from 2011 through 2013 and has served as the Co-Brass Caption Supervisor in 2016-17. Hunt has also served as a Brass Instructor with The Cavaliers since 2014. 

Professionally, Hunt has performed with Marie Osmond, Roger Ingram, Gregory Porter, Joe Lovano, Wycliffe Gordon, Carmen Bradford, Francine Reed, Matthew Morrison, Vince Mendoza, Carl Fischer, Dave Douglas, Steve Houghton, Duffy Jackson, Terrell Stafford, Paquito D’Rivera, Jerry Weldon, Eddie Daniels, and Vince Gardner.  Hunt is the band leader for the Drive-By Big Band and a founder/coordinator of The Beltline Brass Quintet.  Hunt toured frequently with Blair Crimmins and the Hookers, a 1920’s Dixieland ragtime jazz group out of Atlanta and served as the Solo Eb Soprano cornet with The Georgia Brass Band from 2011 to 2016.  Hunt has also been a guest principal trumpet for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra on several occasions.  Other performance groups include Salsa great; Orquesta MaCuba, the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Glenn Miller Orchestra, Joe Gransden Big Band, Buselli-Wallarab Jazz Orchestra, Sean Imboden Large Ensemble, Don Krekel Orchestra, Atlanta Pops Orchestra, Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, Macon Pops Orchestra, Carmel Symphony Orchestra, and the Louisville Orchestra.
